Most people respect Barnett as a player and so do I. He was always solid. Off the field and how he is perceived in the community is another thing altogether. The Twitter thing sealed his fate.

The Packers moved James Lofton the best receiver the franchise had seen in ages when he was only accused and acquitted of two sexual assault charges. They didn't hesitate. And although I'm not saying JFin is a sexual predator, he's also doesn't have nearly the profile or accolades that James Lofton had at the time we sent him packing. The Packers will not tolerate assholes on their team that are not good locker room guys or cause problems.

And it's not unrelated as I am agreeing with Iltarion in that Jermichael is not sacred and an automatic for anything, which I would think goes against what most people think. I'd be looking to ship his ass already...Rodgers developed as a QB in his absence much like Brett did when Sterling retired. We won a Super Bowl without him. We're stacked at tight end, and Finley could bring major value in a trade.

Good job saving up your anti J-Mike stuff to comment on an unrelated article.

P.S. Most people respect Barnett, he was a solid guy for the defense for several years, especially in the run game.

That makes sense hombre, except that to my recollection every single return made it past the 20. Therefore, no reason to down it regardless.

I've been saying for a long time that Finley is gone. He can't stay healthy and even if he does for one year, it will be the perfect time to move him. Buy low and sell high. Figure out a way to move him to the AFC and stockpile draft picks.

Furthermore he grouped himself with Nick Barnett which is another way of saying this guy is not a Packer-type person. He runs his mouth too much, cares too much about Twitter and I believe he is constantly weary that he is going to get hurt.

Go back and read his comments after he was injured for the season in the Washington game. In the moment of that play as it was happening, Finley had a conversation in his head about not trying to make a tackle for fear of injury. Here is a chunk from a story that can be found here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5670842

Finley tried to make a tackle on the second play, after Redskins safety Kareem Moore picked up a fumble and returned it.

"I was like, 'Should I really tackle this guy, because something crazy is about to happen?' In the back of the mind, I was like, 'I shouldn't do this.' And I went after it. And something in the back of my leg popped," Finley said.

Are you serious? Anyone who knows anything about playing contact sports, and something every father has said to his son at some point in time is that those who worry about and think about getting injured....are the ones that do. His first instinct wasn't to knock this guy's block off? He literally in that split second thought about the consequence of making a play. Personally as a professional athlete this is shameful. You think Greg Jennings would have been thinking that? To me this was a deeply revealing tidbit about Jermichael Finley that I believe defines him to some degree. Whether he stays healthy or not...I say he's Shipsville.

In regards to the kickoffs and touchbacks...there were a ton of returns because guys that take a knee in the end zone don't generally catch the coaches eye. The percentage of returns in preseason will be tremendously higher than the regular season because the focus in the regular season is on good decisions and winning games as opposed to showing what you can do when given the opportunity. There were several returns from 6-8 yards deep that are auto-knees in the regular season.
