Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari

Ah, what could have been.

You know we couldn’t leave this alone.

They got together, got engaged, set a wedding date, released their gift registry, called the wedding off and returned our generous gift.

Of course I speak of [intlink id="13" type="category"]Chicago Bears[/intlink] quarterback and all-around wunderkind [intlink id="405" type="category"]Jay Cutler[/intlink] and former flame Kristin Cavallari. Cutler has reportedly come to his senses and is trying to confuse Cavallari into getting back together with him.

“He’s been trying to get her back. All of the rumors were originally that he dumped her but that was totally false and she knew something wasn’t right,” an insider tells OK!. “He totally has a rep for being blah and a douche. But I haven’t heard about him going out at all lately.”

I don’t really understand what the hell they’re saying here because one sentence seems to contradict the next, but the dynamic duo was apparently spotted together in Chicago last weekend.

So, it looks like there’s a chance Cavallari might be watching Cutler getting killed behind the Bears porous offensive line this season.

And maybe we’ll have to order that goddam gravy boat again.
