This had everything to do with the competition committee and nothing to do with Goodell.

I am fine with the rule because it helps the Packers and hurts the Bears. Otherwise, I could give a shit.

For one, the returner is typically some specialist who can’t do anything else, and secondly, there will still be plenty of returns. Am I wrong or were there 0 touchbacks during the Packers-Browns game? With the cover team not being able to get a 10 yard running start, it takes longer for them to get down there, which means returners can come deep out of the endzone.

Plus, it is warm right now, meaning the ball flies farther. Come November and December, not many outdoor kickers will be getting touchbacks.

The bears have been a crappy/ugly football team for exactly a quarter-century now…when The Packers slap the taste outta their mouths twice this season, it will be 4 ass whoopens this calendar year…
I feel bad for the dilusional chicago fans, having to watch an ugly brand of football every season :/

I agree actually. It’s a chicken-shit rule that limits the role of special-teamers and pussifies the game. Just another way Goodell has wielded his holier-than-thou all-exceeding authority.
