Wrong. I would be an idiot if I thought Jay Cutler were better in all those categories, or Mike Vick. If I think A-Rodge is better, then I have a valid opinion. Maybe you know the difference.

My opinion comes from watching Brees' entire career, including Purdue. My wife had Brees as her franchise QB in fantasy football for years. In other words, I've watched most of his games. We are both fans. But the eye-test makes it pretty clear.

Accuracy- Brees - 65.2 career rate. A-Rodge - 64.4 career rate. So, arguing Brees is the more accurate passer isn't idiotic. Its valid. It is even statistically factual.

Except there are two other stats working against it. For one, A-Rodge averages 7.9 yards per pass while Brees averages 7.3. That is partially because Brees throws a lot of short passes. That is statistically proven by the number of receptions that RBs have in Sean Payton's system. During Brees' remarkable 2009 season, he completed a whopping 107 passes to RBs. That is for every 3.4 completions, Brees threw to a RB, the vast majority being within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

What also argues against Brees is the INT rate, of course. INTs are 99% of the time due to one of two things- inaccurate pass or bad decision.

Brees throws an INT once out of every 36 passes. A-Rodge throws an INT once out of every 50 passes. A-Rodge is remarkably better here directly because of accuracy and decision making.

Decision making is a no brainer. The INT rate says it all. All 32 coaches in the NFL would say the same. A QBs first priority is to protect the football. Every time A-Rodge held the ball and took a sack rather than throwing an INT- that was a GOOD DECISION. A lot of A-Rodge's sacks are because he is a good scrambler and thinks he can avoid sacks.

Brees holds onto the ball just as long as A-Rodge. Anyone who watches the Saints knows that. The Saints probably wish he'd take more sacks rather than throwing all those picks.

I was giving Brees his due by calling leadership a wash. A-Rodge is practically a perfect leader in every regard, and he went thru something with Favre's departure that Brees has never had to go through.

@iltarion: Your an idiot if you think Aaron Rodgers is better in all those categories.
Arm strength: sure, give you that
Accuracy: Are you kidding me? Brees holds the record for highest passing percentage in league history you dumb*(&()*)&
Mobility: Brees is really mobile, though ill give Aaron the nod here
Decision making: Haha, I'm shouldn't even honor this with a response. Brees doesn't hold the ball nearly as long as Aaron does because he knows what to do with it. You see how many sacks Aaron takes? Can't be just O-line. Interceptions were a result of revolving door at running back. When you don't know who it will be, it makes you pretty unsure of protection and less able to make the same decisions.
Leadership: How is this a wash, Brees is clearly the better leader and always will be.
