They better keep the pedal to the medal and burn up all the gas in the tank. Meaning, bring it for 4 full quarters. Unlike other teams they've played in the playoffs (exception maybe to Philadelphia), this Steelers squad can and will come back at you ALL GAME. So, when Mike speaks about the delicate balance of managing the game/ clock vs. going all out all of the time, it frankly scares me. I would almost rather have to play catch up and put it on Rodgers shoulders to win in the end then have Big Ben get another chance to pull off his heroics.

Well, I'd really like the Steelers to not 'show up' but we know that won't happen. It should be exciting after the first quarter.

Well, they came out firing 20 yards down field on seam routes and deep in's against the Bears, betting that the O-line would hold up. That's not really vanilla at all. I'm counting on McCarthy to have a few wrinkles to show the Steelers. I assume they are going to set up perimeter match ups, and attack William Gay and Bryant McFadden. The guys they absolutely torched last year. Aaron Rodgers throws as good a ball on the deep sideline as you'll see.

The Packers have stopped "scripting" their first fifteen plays and now call based on what the defense shows them. They are not waiting to make adjustments anymore, they happen at the line of scrimmage. Rodgers and Wells/Colledge are smart and perfectly set up to read what the Steelers Defense shows them and attack the weak spot.

On defense I'd expect quite a bit of the hybrid nickel were Woodson plays Chillars (psycho) role, with Pickett and Green rotating in on the right side to clog the 3 gap, were the Steelers O-line is strongest and they do the bulk of their running. If the Packers can stop Mendenhall on early downs they will be in great shape.

Vanilla play calling is what got us here. After going 3-3 Mike went back to Vanilla play calling to simple things up in the offense and we started winning games. I don't want him to be conservative in the first drive, have to come out with the same game plan as in all the other playoff games.
