I thought the Packers would beat the Eagles, crush the Falcons and then lose to the Bears. Fortunately, the proved me wrong on the last one...

Going into the Super Bowl I feel pretty confident about our chances... Two things must happen: 1) We MUST stop the run. We absolutely have to be able to tackle Mendenhall as soon as we touch him; the Jets got to him but just missed tackles. The Packers did a good job against a similar type back in Michael Turner three weeks ago against Atlanta, let's hope they can do it again. 2) They must not allow Big Ben to make one of his signature plays. Usually, this means bringing him down when you get to him. (A reoccurring theme here...) So, to me the key is the tackling.

I think Rodgers will have a good game - I'm not too worried about our offense. The special teams has been playing better and the Steelers don't have a Hester or Jackson type threat.

Fuck the Steelers and thier experience. It means dick, GB has won 3 playoff games with little experience. The Superbowl is a glorified playoff game to decide the winner of the bracket. Every game is a big game in the NFL.

I took a look at the box scores for the past like 10 Super Bowls. It became apparent to me that unless one team jumps to a lead of 10+ pts or more, the game will swing back and forth and be exciting to ALL fans. If the Packers can somehow manage to create a 10 pt + separation early on, it will be almost impossible for the Steelers to pull out a victory, at least historically speaking. I mean, it's been done before (Saints last year) but it's not very common in such a high stakes winner take all game.

Oh, and he also said that both defenses were "worlds better" than last year. Really? The Steelers had a healthy Aaron Smith last year, and the numbers certainly don't support that.

Last year, the Steelers defense gave up 215 yards per game against the pass.
This year, the Steelers defense gave up 214 yards per game against the pass.

Sure, I'll give you that the Steelers gave up 22 passing TDs last year and only 15 this year, which is pretty good. However, last year, the Steelers had to face the Packers and Vikings, two of the best passing offenses in football, who accounted for about 6 of those 22 TDs. The Steelers didn't have to worry about this year, though they did face the Saints, where Drew Brees went 34-44 for 305 yards and 2 TDs.

AH, the Vikings finished 8th in total defense and have a higher rated defense against the pass (10th) than the Steelers (12th). Also, the one game the Packers played D-troi indoors, the Packers were held to 3 points.

His opinion of Ike Taylor is higher than most. He is a good corner, but he will have his hands full with Greg Jennings.

The Steelers pass defense relies on their rush. If they can get to A-Rodge, they can stay in the game. If they don't, they are in big trouble.

How come everyone always predicts they'll score more points against the Packers defense than they end up scoring? Taking the over here is a fool's bet. The Steelers offense scored 17 points against the Jets, who aren't playing at the level the Packers are. The Packers defense hasn't given up 27 points all year, and I don't see it happening here.
