A NEED to do anything is the sign of a problem. As I stated, it’s the NEED to do it that’s the problem.
If it’s not a NEED then it’s not a problem. I can have a cigar once in awhile if I want right?
Not the healthiest way to spend 1/2 hour, but I get pleasure from it and it’s not hurting anybody unless you’re in the smoke trail.
Some people drink and drive, you might crash your computer while jerking off, but you’ll never kill an innocent person.

Some people on here need to masturbate BADLY, and that is strictly speaking from both a medical and emotional standpoint.

Its okay, people. You won’t go to Hell over it. Trust me. Me and JC are close.

On the other hand, porn, like anything else you get a high from, is extremely addictive. It can damage your life if you let it get out of control. It also objectifies women, which can be dangerous. Frankly, if you can go through life without viewing a second of porn, then all the power to you. If you can go through life without taking a single drink, then all the power to you. Either are a wonderful thing. Neither apply to me.

And no, it’s not simply the ‘conscience’ that is hurt. Masturbation is not something healthy adults should do and the reports of depression associated with it are not simply anecdotal either.

The need for some to view porn is a reflection of their depraved minds. The need for some to masturbate is the action coming from that depraved mind.

It’s the conscience that it hurts. It’s actually kinda weird that people think it’s bad to look at naked humans. I’ve never got a meater while looking at cruelty, where’s the harm in love?
The group he’s promoting are for those who think it’s taken over their lives. If you find you have blisters or don’t go to work, I agree, you gotta look into it.

Working as a psychologist I can tell you that there are many people who suffer from depression brought on by ‘doing the act’.
Aside from the harm it brings to marriages the personal harm that comes from it should be of much greater concern that it gets treated.
Other psychologists complete “poo-poo” the notion despite the fact that they have real clients with real problems because of it.

I was talking to a girl I graduated college with and we were speaking of this…. she had a client who had been struggling with depression which he thought was brought on because of doing it. She told me she thought it was subconscious guilt because it’s so heavily stigmatized in public. Her words, “Catholic guilt can have that effect”. I asked her, “did he tell you he was Catholic?”. She admitted that he didn’t, nor did she ask, nor did she have any other grounds (aside from his depression) to make that assumption.
And it turned out she was wrong. He was not a practicing or a cradle Catholic. No religious affliation, according to him.

The effects of this are not taken seriously at all.
