I was just watching Sound FX on NFL Network and it was all miked up stuff with Bill Belichick. He is ALWAYS giving his players hypothetical scenarios and then asking them, “What are you thinking about in this situation?” What you’re saying about the QB in that situation is spot on. A sack does absolutely no harm.

Belichick goes on to repeat throughout, “Situations! Know the situation.”

Hopefully MM, the worst situational coach I’ve ever seen lead the green and gold, was watching and taking notes.

That might have put it into A-Rodge’s head to not take a sack and hurt field position. Of course, that doesn’t explain the 3rd and goal play. A-Rodge should have held the ball there and found a receiver. A sack does no damage there.
