Ay hombre, I said that when the suspension happened. Since when does a strength and conditioning coach tell players what to do on the sideline? Never. Rex Ryan knew about it and endorsed it. Period. Sal Alosi is the perfect name for a fall guy.

You can expect more coaches like Rex Ryan in the near future. It is surprising there aren't more at the NFL level already. In this day and age of the 24 hour news cycle and instant news, the mantra of any publicity is good publicity has already been fully embraced by many players, and it is only a matter of time before more teams besides the Cowboys, Redskins and Jets also adopt.

The goal is to promote the brand; build awareness of your brand at any cost. If a loud-mouthed and oft-times obnoxious coach makes people talk about you, that is a good thing. A perfect example of this was Lane Kiffin's short stint at Tennessee. He went in there, made a bunch of ridiculous and obnoxious statements, and practically went out of his way to be controversial. The reason was obvious- bring attention to the program. Make it relevant again. More NFL teams will reach the conclusion that it is better to be relevant in a negative way than not at all.

With the Giants there and having won a Super Bowl just 3 years ago, does anyone really care about the Jets without Rex Ryan there shooting his mouth off?

It is like no one has really noticed that the Jets just aren't that good and that Ryan's defense isn't stopping anyone anymore.

Anyone who thinks that strength coach was responsible for lining those guys up in a line on the sidelines is delusional. It was happening like 10 feet away from Rex, and the return man always would run to the Jets side of the field. There was a definite strategy involved that went much higher than the freaking strength coach.
