Although nothing has changed since Wednesday, quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks unlikely to play Sunday when the Green Bay Packers travel to face the New England Patriots.
The company line, thus far, is a decision on Rodgers won’t be made until Saturday, but the quarterback hasn’t done anything football-related, this week. Instead, the Packers have held him out of meetings and film sessions while waiting for doctors to clear him.
In order to go, Rodgers first has to be cleared for a cardiovascular workout. If he shows no symptoms of the concussion the following day, he’ll be given the green light.
The Packers are clearly being extra cautious with Rodgers because this is the second concussion he’s suffered, this season.
Matt Flynn will make his first NFL start and Graham Harrell will likely be brought up from the practice squad if Rodgers isn’t cleared.
