PETA: Lambeau Field Is Third Most Vegetarian-Friendly
PETA has released their annual list of the most vegetarian-friendly stadiums in the NFL and Lambeau Field is ranked third.
Lambeau ranked third last season, as well, which we’ve always found strange, considering it’s located dead center in the land of bratwurst, deer hunting, beer swilling and heart attacks.
However, Lambeau offers a variety of meat-free options, including veggie burgers, veggie bratwurst, and baked potatoes topped with peppers, onion, and mushrooms. The stadium’s premium dining areas up the ante even more, with portobello napoleon with rice pilaf, char-roasted vegetables, and grilled vegetable pasta salad, among other things.
“At Lambeau Field, Packers fans are picking up hearty, meat-free fare—including veggie bratwurst, veggie burgers, and baked potatoes—quicker than Charles Woodson picks off errant passes,” says PETA Director Dan Shannon. “The best way to tackle health problems and shore up the defense of animals and the environment is to go vegan.”
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field, which offers such delicious-sounding fare as mock-steak sandwiches and faux-chicken sandwiches, placed first. The Oakland Raiders’ Alameda County Coliseum, last year’s winner, came in second. The Atlanta Falcons’ Georgia Dome was fourth, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium and Detroit Lions’ Ford Field tied for fifth.
We certainly find it admirable that Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packers are providing fans with an inclusive environment, but we’ll be sticking with bratwurst, burgers and lots and lots of Miller Lite.
