Finley Out 3-6 Weeks; Barnett To Have Surgery
The latest in Green Bay Packers injuries
The good news for the Green Bay Packers is tight end Jermichael Finley’s injury isn’t season ending.
The bad news is he’ll need surgery and will miss three to six weeks. Finley tore his meniscus early in the Packers loss to the Washington Redskins, on Sunday.
Meanwhile, linebacker Nick Barnett will have surgery on his injured wrist, this week. Barnett was holding out hope he could put off surgery until after the season.
While there’s a possibility Barnett could be ready to play in eight weeks, it seems unlikely the Packers will keep him on the active roster with all of their injury problems. In all likelihood, Barnett will join Ryan Grant and Morgan Burnett on injured reserve.
“Anytime you deal with injuries, particularly this time of year, when you get up into the 6 to 8-week mark, those are tough decisions to make. But every injury is different,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “The fact that individuals are having surgery, we should have a pretty clear-cut view of exactly, based on the individual, the history of the individual, how the medical staff feels and so forth. I really can’t speculate if we’re going to hold onto one player as opposed to another.”

I remember being at this game and thinking that the season was over when Finley went down let alone when Rodgers got a concussion! Things certainly turned out for the best though SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!! The way the Packers overcame season ending injuries to so many big time players is incredible!
