Several Players Could Be Traded
It's true. Jarrett Bush could be attractive to another team.
Several members of the Green Bay Packers could be playing to impress other teams tonight.
The Packers need to trim their roster by 22 players on Saturday, but it seems increasingly likely the team could make a trade.
Some of the players who could potentially be on the move include tackle Breno Giacomini, guard/center Evan Dietrich-Smith, cornerback Jarrett Bush, guard/center Jason Spitz, tackle Allen Barbre and fullback Quinn Johnson.
Spitz and Johnson seem to be the most valuable. Spitz has been a starter for the Packers at both guard and center and could fill that role on another team, while Johnson has the potential to be a starter.
The Packers reportedly don’t want to trade Spitz because of his versatility, but if the right offer presents itself general manager Ted Thompson will pull the trigger.
Bush, who can be a valuable special teams contributor, garnered some attention when he was on the free agent market prior to the 2009 season, signing an offer sheet with the Tennessee Titans.
With the possible exception of Spitz, the Packers aren’t likely to get anything more than a seventh-round pick or an end-of-the-roster player in a trade for any of these guys.
However, Thompson’s trade of guard Tony Moll to the Baltimore Ravens for safety Derrick Martin prior to last season paid off for the Packers. Martin became a valuable contributor on special teams.
If it turns out they can’t be traded, Barbre, Giacomini and Johnson are good bets to be released. The other players should stick as backups.

Who in their right mind think Allen “turnstile” Barbre has any trade value whatsoever? Or, are we talking about his evil twin that can actually play football?
I don’t see Quinn Johnson being released.
