I mean, if the guy could what he did last year with a good offensive team around him with no offseason and a new playbook, imagine what he wouldve done for the packers the past few years if they werent managed by ted thompson and coached by the pillsbury dough boy.

abe – you think Leroy’s consciously trying to create controversy? really? i don’t see that at all. but – i could be wrong.

al’s beard – say what you want about favre and the Jets. the fans and some team members shit on him after that season…like, it’s all brett’s fault we went 1-4 in our last 5 games. what about the fact that the Jets’ passing D was 4th worst in the league, or the rush D went from 24 or 28 sacks in the first half of the season down to 12 in the second half, or what about Thomas Jones’ piss poor performance in the last 4 games? yeh – he calls brett out in the last Miami game…yet he has 23 rushing yards. he’s a fucking douche. and even when the Jets were 8-3, people are still shaking their heads at some of Mangini’s calls. yeh – Brett’s shoulder was hurting…i’m not saying he didn’t contribute to the 1-4 slide. but so did the rest of the team. TEAM – like you Packer fans call it. Brett’s a diva, he’s an egotist, me, me me – no I in TEAM, Brett.

until you all rip on him – then you all backtrack and put the I in TEAM just to make your arguments. (i’m saying “you” to everyone, not just Al).

How did Brett lie his way out of town btw? The jets were the one who didnt report the injury. And then Mangini got fired and Favre could see that the team was gonna change and knowing he had an injury that needed surgery he decided to retire again. It asnt until after CHildress came to him and tried to woo him later in the offseason and give him support that he considered returning and getting surgery. then after discovering he also had a rotater cuff injury he got freaked out and decided he didnt want to play. But a month later when he realized his arm felt a lot better and the injury didnt hinder his throwing, he decided he could come back healthy and strong. Im not saying Favre isnt a little rash and immature i his decion making sometimes, but hes a good guy and a fucking amazing football player.

I think you miss Butler’s point – and that is to create controversy. He’s doing exactly that (just like Monty et al on this site). For that reason, I’d say his job is more than secure.
