Underwood Up To No Good
Green Bay Packers’ second-year cornerback Brandon Underwood is the player under investigation for a sexual assault that allegedly took place in Lake Delton this weekend, the Journal Sentinel reports.
The alleged incident took place Saturday morning during a party at the Wilderness Resort Golf Cabins, after Clay Matthews hosted The McGovern Charity Golf Tournament in Wisconsin Dells. Six players were interviewed by police and released, as was Underwood, but Underwood remains under investigation.
Matt Flynn, Josh Sitton, Korey Hall, Brad Jones, Clay Matthews and Khalil Jones were those interviewed and released.
The players met the two Milwaukee-area women, ages 31 and 33, at a bar, according to police. Underwood, 23, apparently admitted having sex with them.
“(The) seventh did have contact with the two females,” Grimsled said. “We were pretty sure of that. Everybody was cooperative.
“It comes down to ‘was it consensual sex?’ One side says yes, the other says no.”
No one present for the event has commented on the record, but several players did have some off-the-record comments about Underwood, according to the Journal Sentinel.
When apprised that the investigation centered on Underwood, 23, several players who wished to remain anonymous said he had been a problem since he was drafted in the sixth round in 2009 out of Cincinnati. Cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt talked last season about Underwood being immature early in his rookie season.
With Johnny Jolly awaiting trial for felony drug possession, the Packers are starting to look like the Oakland Raiders.
