Packers Intrigued By Super Bowl At Lambeau Field
Put Super Bowl here.
When New York/New Jersey was awarded the 2014 Super Bowl on Tuesday, we suggested it would open the door for the NFL to put the game in other cold-weather cities — cities like Green Bay.
Green Bay Packers’ president Mark Murphy said he’s intrigued by the possibility, but cited some of the same potential problems we did with having the game in Green Bay.
Murphy said Wednesday that depending on how the game goes in New York, there may be other opportunities. He said hosting a Super Bowl in Green Bay is “very intriguing, but there are a lot of logistical requirements that need to be researched.”
In short, it’s questionable whether Green Bay and the surrounding communities have the infrastructure necessary to host such an event.
In other words, if you’ve got some money, start building some hotels and conference centers and we’ll talk.
