You don't have to take the "madden" approach but a more balanced approach that involves the draft, FA, and trade should be considered. TT and MM have produced mixed results hardly enough to deem them unquestioned as far as their methods. The inability to draft quality lineman has handicapped this team and could shorten Rodgers career. Signing 2 OTs who are 34 and 33 for big money is the result of poor drafting at that position. It isn't that no one could see these aging dinosaurs on the verge of extinction. I have to wonder about having these Cliffy and taush, true warriors, protecting rodgers when they are clearly on the decline.

There is nothing wrong with the approach of emphasis on the draft over FA and Trade. I just think MM and TT have gone too far to disdaining these methods of player acquisition.

And hey morons (TT and MM), how about only 2 full backs this year. One of those slots could have been a CB or a OT. Idiots.

You don't pay very close attention to reality in sports, do you? It kinda seems like you expect the Packers to take the madden approach and just toss money to players they don't know. While I agree that CB's and depth at safety would help, there is nothing wrong with the Packer's way of going about it. They have Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Al Harris(at some time this year), Will Blackmon and Pat Lee. Its not wrong to give players a chance to show what they've got, and since Blackmon and Lee have been hurt, they've showed enough promise to stay on a team. Morale and momentum go into a player's success just as much as physical skill. Just look at Charles Woodson since leaving the Raiders. Thompson knows talent better than you or I do, that's why it's his job. Lets keep in mind how fucked up this team was as Sherman left. I think he's done a pretty good job with what he was presented. Do you want them to pick up another Joe Johnson-like player?

There weren't any free agents worth signing this offseason who weren't asking for ass loads of cash and didn't have a high bust rate. Also, as you or someone already said on this website, no big free agents want to come to Green Bay, even Woodson only came here as a last resort.

I love when Jeremy refers to Monty as McMahon. All I can hear is Jesse 'The Body' Ventura back in the day....

"Well I tell you, McMahon. I don't care how big you are, a thumb to the eye will bring you down every time."

I don't know about this one McMahon. The Packers got burned because they played the same team twice in a row and didn't change their defensive game plan. Gregg Williams kicked their asses by having several game plans for just one game.

The free agent market this offseason sucked. How else can you explain the Jaguars giving 25mil to a guy who can't even run right now. Almost all of those guys were overpaid, or have their best seasons behind them. Clifton and Tauscher are included in that, but Ted really didn't have a choice they were the best two tackles available.
