You signed a contract, You would– and so would your agent,expect the Packers to abide by the term of that if things went bad for you, Be an example to your peers and the league. Sign your contract.

Sure, but two time 2nd team all-pro means he was voted as the third best safety in the whole NFL by AP writers (not dip-shit fans) for the past two seasons. That’s not “solid” that’s elite.

Pro bowls aren’t accomplishments anymore, they’re glorified popularity contests that nobody who’s been in the league a few years even gives a shit about anymore.

Collins has played well, but as for who is better and more deserving between him and Polamalu, I’ll take Polamalu who has proven to be the leader of one of the league’s top defenses for awhile (Look how bad they were when he was out) Collins isn’t even the leader of this defense, that would be Charles Woodson.

Also, I would like to see more than two solid seasons before a player gets paid that much. Ever heard of working for a contract? Look at Haynesworth, the guy was a monster his last season in Tennessee, then he gets paid, goes to Washington and even before the injury he wasn’t that effective.

He’s a probowler, and 2nd team All pro in 2008 and 2009, the team drastically switched schemes between those seasons. He has 17 Int’s to Troy’s 20 in two fewer seasons, and more tackles per season. Collins has five career pick sixes to Polamalu’s one. He doesn’t have the sacks because he’s not asked to do that. He is not injury prone and has missed only 3 games, Polamalu has missed 19.

The only thing that has made Polamalu better is that he plays with Ben Roethlisberger, who doesn’t fumble or toss the game away in the playoffs.

Your thought is obviously not based on any facts. He’s worth it, pay him.

It also makes you wonder a little bit too…what does Teddy have up his sleeve.I love Tramon’s play this past year and I think he can step in and take over for Al Harris as he did admirably most of last year. When Tramon did get beat for big plays, he always seemed to be right there in perfect coverage. Maybe his ball awareness isn’t quite up to snuff, but I think this guy is a quality corner for years to come. Often times aging corners end up in the safety or free safety role, so maybe Al Harris steps back there and we deal Collins? I don’t know.

I thought the guy declined a little bit this year. He’s not nearly the player Troy P. is and he needs to be more aggressive in supporting the run. Collins also looked completely lost during the Cardinals playoff loss….then again…so did everyone. That being said he stood out in that game as exquisitely sucky.

I don’t get this one. Maybe he wants stupid money.

I say just pay the man close to what Troy Polamalu signed for 2 years ago; 4 years 28Mil 15 guaranteed.

If you can pay Chillar 4 mil a year you can give Collins 7. That money is coming off the books with Kampman anyway.
