Nick.

My intention was not to "treat Allen like football scum." There's little question Allen is a good football player. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

My point is simply that Allen and Woodson just aren't in the same class. One interception and one touchdown doesn't change that fact. Allen is a good defensive end. Woodson is a great all-around football player.

Jared Allen is a one dimensional player. He has one move (Rushing upfield hard and fast) He is atrocious against the run because he's always trying to pad his sack stats. And speaking of padding his stats, the guy would have 5 sacks if it wasn't for those games against Green Bay and their sieves at left tackle. The guy has talent, don't get me wrong but is stats are inflated against bad talent.(He'll dominate TJ Lang but get shut down against Joe Thomas) Also, his interception and touchdown were more a case of being in the right place at the right time.

Woodson is one of the most versatile players in the league, he can do everything out there as evidenced by his stats. Hell, how can Allen be defensive MVP of the league when he isn't his own teams? That person would be Kevin Williams.

First off, GPN, Allen has both an interception and touchdown this year. Don't treat him like football scum.

And Steffen, why get personal? I'm just pointing out the Allen is having the best statiscal year on a 10-1 team. Darren Sharper, is doing the same for an 11-0 team. What's the Packers record? More importantly, what has that Woodson-led secondary looked like against any sort of competent quarterback (no, Tony Romo is not one). Man up, don't blame the freakin coaching staff.

And you call us morons. Hello mirror.

Not to mention that over half of Jared Allen sacks came against our atrocious offensive line. Had he faced a competent line he wouldn't have walked away with 7+ sacks in two games.

Blame Capers for the vanilla scheme deployed by the pack vs. the Vikes. Had he turned Woodson loose, maybe the outcome would have been different.

And Nick - bloggers don't have to be unbiased. Journalists do. Where on this site does it say Total packers offers up unbiased commentary? Where?

Bloggers have the right to be biased just as much as Vikings fans have the right to be fucking morons.

Jared Allen sacks and tackles.

Charles Woodson sacks and tackles and intercepts and scores touchdowns and runs back kicks and bats down passes and blocks...

They just aren't in the same class.

Hands down???? Um, heard of a guy named Jared Allen. Or Darren Sharper. I know Pack fans (I mean un-biased bloggers) can't convince themselves of it, but both have outplayed Woodson, and are on teams staring a playoff bye week in the face. The Pack's D has been pretty good, but that secondary has been torched TWICE by Favre. Oh, and if memory serves, I'd say Allen was the best defensive player in either of those two Packer/Vikings meetings. Hands Down.
