The Green Bay Packers have reportedly promoted receiver Jake Allen from the practice squad.
Allen, who toiled on the Packers practice squad last season as well, will replace Brett Swain as the Packers fourth receiver. Swain was placed on injured reserve this week after inuring his knee against the Cleveland Browns.
With Jordy Nelson also rehabilitating a sprained knee and unable to play against the Minnesota Vikings, Allen is likely to see more meaningful action than he ever has.
The story was first reported by the Press Gazette’s Pete Dougherty.
Allen was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Division 3 Mississippi College in 2008.
Here’s a little video of the Packers newest receiver. Apparently, Jake Allen came from nothing. Check it out to see how he’s rollin’.
